Continuing the Japanese Tradition of Care and Support for Seniors
Since 1971, Kimochi has provided culturally sensitive, Japanese language-based programs and services to 3,000 Bay Area seniors and their families each year. Services include transportation; referral and outreach services; health and consumer education seminars; healthy aging and senior center activities; social services; congregate and home delivered meals; in-home support services; adult social day care; 24-hour residential and respite care.
Kimochi Friends and Supporters,
Re: Help Build Our Kimochi Dedication Wall
2021 marks 50 years of Kimochi service to Bay Area seniors and their caregivers. Kimochi’s mission remains firmly in place for the next 50 -- to provide the highest level of quality care, in the Japanese tradition of respect for our elders, for future generations of seniors of all ethnicities.
In 2030, nine short years away, all baby boomers will be older than age 65. This expansion of our senior population means there will be a growing number of adults who, despite their desire to live independently, may need to rely on the help of others. Kimochi will be there.
Great challenges are ahead with a growing senior population, families more geographically dispersed and the uncertainty of government funding given the impacts of COVID. So, we humbly ask your support to continue and expand Kimochi’s important services that help so many seniors live with dignity and independence, delaying or avoiding the need for institutionalization.
To that end, we are building the “Kimochi Dedication Wall” – it represents Kimochi’s commitment, together with the community of families, friends, donors and volunteers, to be there for future generations of seniors and their caregivers. Our goal is to raise $500,000 from individual and corporate gifts by September 1, 2022 with all monies dedicated to directly benefit senior programs and services.
Please help ensure the continued work of Kimochi by supporting the Dedication Wall through a tax-deductible gift or by joining our Legacy Society. We thank you for your consideration and ‘kimochi’ for our seniors.
With our heartfelt thanks,
