Community Dining Program
A nutritious, well-balanced, Japanese-style hot lunch is provided 5 days a week, Monday through Friday (except major holidays) in a communal-tables setting. The menu is carefully planned and prepared by our Nutritionist and staff to ensure each meal is healthy, nutritionally balanced and adequately proportioned for seniors. Our weekday Community Dining services has oversight by San Francisco’s Office on Aging. Guidelines for participation and pricing are noted below.
Regular nutrition education presentations and information are also provided to assist participants in maintaining their health and well-being. Meals are provided on a first come first served basis. Reservations are taken for senior groups. Transportation is also available for seniors who are unable to drive or take public transportation.
Requires completion of the San Francisco citywide Intake Assessment, a nutrition assessment with Kimochi staffs, AND
Individual must be 60 years of age or older, or
Spouse or domestic partner of a senior enrolled in the program, or
An individual under the age of 60 with a disability who resides in housing facilities occupied primarily by older adults at which the Community Dining service is located, or
A disabled individual who resides at home with and accompanies a senior who participates in the program
A voluntary contribution per meal is appreciated; voluntary contribution amount is set by the San Francisco Office on Aging guidelines and is subject to change.
