Kimochi Lounge
The Kimochi Lounge was our first agency site started in 1971. It was created as a meeting place where the Issei (first generation Japanese Americans) could read and relax, get the latest news in the community, and socialize.
Today, “The Lounge” serves as the agency’s information and outreach site where seniors, their families, caregivers, and visitors to Japantown can get resources to help seniors remain independent and active at home. Information is available on nutrition, health, legal aspects of aging, family caregiving, and housing. The Lounge also houses a book and video library. Arts and crafts made by our seniors and official Kimochi products are available for sale as well.
The Lounge is visited by 5,000 seniors, families, and visitors annually and is often the first touchpoint many seniors have with Kimochi, where they first become familiar with our programs and services.
Kimochi Lounge - Open Monday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (closed Wednesdays, Sundays, and holidays).
